The Backstory
In the books, the original clans left the old forest due to humans taking it over to build more houses. After a couple of moons passed, construction ended and many humans retired back to the city. After realizing that the forest was still lush with life, and no one ended up wanting to live around so much wildlife due to the chances of disease and safety. With the humans leaving the forest, partially destroyed, animals and plants began to rebirth throughout the lands. As the forest came back to life, even better than before, StarClan saw the opportunity for a new generation of clans to start.
An omen was called out to four specific cats, the four ancestors with the blood from the four original clans. The cats that would make up these new clans were all once impure; kittypets, loners, or rogues. StarClan commanded them, informing them that it was their fate of the forest. A rumble of Thunder would turn into a steep Rift. A splash of River would turn into a wild Torrent. A shade of Shadow would turn into the darkness of Cavern. And a rush of Wind would turn into a gust of Gale. These four new clans would rise from the ashes, claiming the lands that their mother clans once ruled. It was their destiny... it was their revival.

The Plot
Four cats, each clan leader, have bloodlines descending from each original clan. Foxstar, of Rift, descends from Thunder. Falowtar, of Gale, descends from Wind. Shrewstar, of Cavern, descends from Shadow. And Salmonstar, of Torrent, descends from River. These four cats were destined by StarClan to create four daughter clans replacing the four original clans. With these four new leaders, comes four new clans. It's the revival of a lifetime.
