liliana, a kittypet impregnated by a passing rogue, gave birth to a litter of three healthy kits in the warmth of her twoleg home. from that little came two males, and a female. the males were given the names tyson, and brook. the female became rosie. rosie naturally become liliana's pride and joy, being the only she-cat in the litter. not much longer after the birth, they were thrust from their happy life in the twoleg nest. the twoleg couple moved out, and instead of taking the small family with them, released them into the forest behind the house. confused and scared, liliana struggled to keep her young kits alive. not too far into their new lives, brook passed due to unknown causes. it was clear their new lifestyle would be a challenge.

rosie and tyson proved to be clever young rogues in the making. they were resourceful, and were never seen too far from each other. liliana was growing weaker with every day that passed. the two youngsters struggled to support their weakening mother. gradually, she began improving, and eventually started hunting for herself once again. everything seemed right to rosie after weeks of struggling, then, she began receiving the visions.

strange, starry cats would appear in her dreams, speaking with slurred tongues and echoing voices. "fourtrees, fourtrees..." they chanted. "the clans, the clans..." rosie was so confused. she didn't tell her mother and brother about it, in fear they would tell her it was strange. every night when she would drift into slumber, the visions became more vivid. sequences of multiple cats marching towards four huge looming trees. the cats would speak to one another, yelling over the crowded noises. rosie never understood it, but was able to catch the respect the four tall cats held for each other. soon, an eldery, yet very strong tabby tom would begin to visit rosie in her dreams. he identified himself as onestar, claiming to be a distant relative of hers. he later revealed he once led the late windclan, and was in fact one of the cats she had spotted at the four trees 'meeting' place. onestar began training rosie after slowly gaining her trust, and readying her for her new task.

rosie's training was complete, and onestar finished with the simple request that she find the fourtrees, and meet with other cats there. he told her she was an important piece of the clans' revival. rosie agreed, and following the guided path towards the old sacred meeting place. there, she would meet the new leaders. foxstar of riftclan, the new thunderclan. salmonstar of torrentclan, the revived riverclan. shrewstar of cavernclan, the improved shadowclan. and finally, fallowstar of galeclan, which would become windclan's new home. rosie then received her new clan name, grousesnout, and would serve beneath fallowstar as galeclan's proud deputy.
